Let's get started . . .
For your next interactive lesson, we will use W.W. Jacobs' supernatural thriller, "The Monkey's Paw." This popular English classic has been adapted across the decades. It was written in 1902 and first published in Harper's Magazine (check out the original). Later in that same year, "The Monkey's Paw" was published again in Jacob's Our Lady of the Barge (a collection of his short stories). "The Monkey's Paw" is believed to be an adaptation of a folk tale ("The Three Wishes") in One Thousand and One Nights (1001 Nights), which is famously known as the modern-day classic, Arabian Nights (Shmoop Editorial Team). Remember Disney's Aladdin and Jasmine?
